    Free NHS flu vaccinations are available for eligible groups, including:


    From 1 September 2026

    • Pregnant women
    • Eligible children (where this service is available)

    From 1 October 2026

    • Adults aged 65 and over
    • Adults aged 18–64 in clinical risk groups
    • Carers
    • People living in long-stay residential care
    • Eligible frontline health and social care workers

    Can I have my flu and COVID-19 vaccinations together? In many cases, yes. Our team will confirm what's suitable for you.


    Are there side effects? Like all vaccines, flu and COVID-19 vaccines can cause side effects. These are usually mild and short-lived.


    What if I have allergies? If you have questions about allergies or whether vaccination is suitable for you, please speak to our pharmacy team before booking.

    • School-aged children who missed their school vaccination — from 1 December 2026

      How can I order my prescription?

          Ordering your prescription can be done in any of the following methods:


          1. Order directly from your GP, using the same method you always have. When you complete our sign-up form; we will change your patient nomination so your GP knows where to send your presciption.


          2. Order using the NHS website. Use your NHS log in (or register here) and order your repeat prescription at a click of a button, ensuring you have set Mapperley Pharmacy as your nominated pharmacy.


          3. Order using the NHS prescription app, using your NHS login (or register here), ensuring you have set Mapperley Pharmacy as your nominated pharmacy.

      When should I order my medicine?

          Place an order for your prescription in a timely manner, with a minimal of 5 working days to allow the GP surgery to process your request and for our pharmacy to prepare your medication.

      When can you deliver my prescription?

          Our delivery days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Your prescription can be collected from our pharmacy at any time during our opening hours.


          If you would like your delivery to be re-arranged then please call the pharmacy on 0115 9607826 and we will be happy to reschedule this on our next delivery day.

      How much does it cost to have my prescription delivered?

          Our delivery service is free of charge.  Deliveries take place on Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday


          If you would like your delivery to be re-arranged then please call the pharmacy on 0115 9607826 and we will be happy to reschedule this on our next delivery day.

      Can I get my prescription delivered if I am exempt from prescription charges?

          Yes, we deliver prescriptions to all our patients. Please ensure this exemption is captured correctly when signing up. If there are any changes to your exemption status then please notify us ASAP by calling us on 0115 9607826.

      How do I pay for my prescription if I am having it delivered?

          We will contact you using the details you have provided upon your sign up. Please ensure your contact details are correct when signing up.


          Payment will be taken over the phone by one of our trusted staff members. Once payment has been made your prescription will be included in the next delivery run.


          Please remember our staff will only ask you for your 16 digit card number, expiry date and your 3 digit CVV (at the back of your card). No other bank details will be requested.

      What if I need my medication urgently?

          If you require your medication urgently then this will be available to collect from our pharmacy during our opening hours.


          If you require your medication urgently outside our opening hours then please contact 111.

      Can you leave my prescription in a safe place if I am not home?

          Our deliveries days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays and Friday. If you require us to leave your prescription in a safe place then please call the pharmacy to discuss this with the pharmacist.


          Please note this is only available subject to review of your medication and the discretion of the pharmacist.
